Gospel Project Teacher Meeting- Today! 

Thank you to all of those who attended the Gospel Project Training this past Saturday! If you weren’t able to attend, don’t worry, we have information for you and want to make sure you’re equipped to serve this next year!  We would like for all teachers and helpers to PLEASE go to the classroom you’ve been assigned after church this Sunday, August 19th for a 15 minute meeting.  We want to have consistency among all the teachers and helpers this next year and would like to communicate each classroom’s plan for the 2018/2019 school year.

 Summer Book Study- Today

The women who read “Lies Women Believe” by Nancy Leigh de Moss over the summer will be meeting to discuss the book today, Sunday, August 19th at 4:30pm.  Liz Linclau would like everyone to bring a salad to share.  They will eat and then discuss the book.  Please RSVP to Liz (970)225-1894) so she can plan for the number of people coming.

Elizabeth’s 5K Update

Liz was so incredibly encouraged by the turnout to her 5K last weekend! Thank you to everyone who came to run or walk and also to everyone who donated to help support Liz as she returns to Honduras for the 2018/2019 school year.

If you still wish to donate, there is still time! Just drop your cash or check into the Tithes & Offerings box- just make sure to write 5K on your memo line or on the envelope (please do not write Liz’s name on it). We will make sure it gets to Liz. And, your donations are tax deductible.

Child Registration for Sunday School

We will be kicking off our new Sunday school year in September.  If your child is changing classrooms, this will happen on Sunday, September 2nd.  The Gospel Project Directors (Jack/Kelli Wuest and Joey/Robin Taylor) will be in your child’s classroom this next Sunday (August 19th) to register your child for the upcoming school year.  We will be asking your child’s age, grade, and allergy information and communicating with you whether they will be moving classrooms.

 Senders U- August 24th & 25th

Join us for Senders University on August 24th (6-9pm) & 25th (9am-12pm) at the church! This class is designed to train those whose call is to reach the nations by sending missionaries.  One of the biggest reasons missionaries leave the field is lack of support from home.  Pam Arlund and Peggy Spiers from All Nations will teach us what needs missionaries have on the field, and how we can support them most effectively to keep them on the frontlines.  This will train you, the senders, to be effective in caring, equipping, and sending!

The class has a suggested donation of $10. Childcare will be provided, please RSVP to Amanda Visser (970)347-0006.

Memory Madness

Memory Madness week 3 starts today! Don’t forget to go to the table to say your verse(s).

Moms in Prayer- starting September 11th

After taking a summer break, Moms in Prayer will be starting back up on Tuesday, September 11th.  We meet in Janet Grove’s home every Tuesday at 8:15 a.m.  We are a multi-school group that will be praying over numerous students and schoolsincluding; Frontier Academy Elementary, Middle School & High School, Options- the home school program at Frontier, Our Savior’s Lutheran Pre-school, as well as multiple Colleges.  If you would like to come check out our time of prayer, we’d love to have you and we can always add additional schools to our prayer list.

We follow a “four steps of prayer” guideline during our hour: Praise– praising God for a specific attribute that he blesses us with, Confession– a silent confession time to bring our repentant hearts to the Lord, Thanksgiving– a time to praise God for all of the blessings and answered prayers he lavishes on us, and Intercession– where we chose one child, one teacher, and any school concerns to pray over and then have another mom pray over as well.

It truly is a super encouraging time of lifting our cares concerning our kiddos to the God we know loves us and wants His best for us and our children. If you have any questions, please contact Rebecca Andrews at (970)-391-9101.

Bulletin Entries & Announcements

If you have information you would like to submit for the Sunday Bulletin and/or to be announced on a Sunday morning, please see the following guidelines:

  • Please submit your request in writing, as to insure spoken or texted requests aren’t forgotten.
  • Please email office@summitviewcommunity.org
  • Please submit your requests by the Friday (before 1pm) before the Sunday Service.
  • Also, please let us know in your email if you like your request announced during the service.

Thanks for helping us create a process for bulletin entries and announcements that will help assure that requests are not missed.
