Pray for Your Husband

Pray that your husband will choose his friends wisely. Pray that God will bring him men who will encourage his accountability before God, and will not lead him into sin. (Prov. 13:20; Prov. 27:17)

Pray for Your Wife

Pray that she will cooperate with you in providing godly leadership in your home, not based on fear of what others will think, but according to scriptural truth. (Eph. 6:4; Col. 3:20-21) (If your wife does not have children, pray that God will give her many “spiritual children” as she shares the truth of God’s Word.)

Pray for Your Children

Generosity—”Grant that my children may be generous and willing to share, and so lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age.” (1 Tim. 6:18-19)

Pray for Your Singleness

Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ. (Colossians 3:23–24)

Help me see any success or progress as evidence of your grace, and wean me off of the love of money and human approval. Liberate me from the tyranny of today’s to-do list, and receive every task, every meeting, every chore, and every project as an act of worship.

Pray for Unbelievers

Pray that God would use any circumstance to do his work in them. We pray to a God who is sovereign and who sovereignly works his good will. Often he saves people through difficult circumstances, through bringing them to the very end of themselves. Pray, then, that God would arrange circumstances, whether easy or difficult, to lead them to salvation. “Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep your word” (Psalm 119:67). As you pray for the unbelievers you love, always pray to God: “your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10).

Answer to Prayer

The birth of a Tajik Church, although a slow and painstaking process, is now reality. The Church among Tajiks is small, only a thousand, but growing.

Challenge for Prayer

Christian media ministries.

a) The whole Bible in Tajik exists; work on a much-needed simplified translation is underway with the Gospels already available. GRN has materials in seven languages. Importing Bibles and Christian literature is extremely difficult; pray for the effective entry and distribution of the good news in printed form.

b) Video. A number of Christian videos and DVDs, including the JESUS film, are available in most languages spoken in Tajikistan. Such material is in high demand in several languages.

c) Christian radio. TWR broadcasts in Tajik for 90 minutes per week. Various agencies broadcast in Uzbek 2.5 hours per week. There are many programs in Farsi that can be understood and in many minority languages; pray for more to listen to these life-changing words.

d) Satellite TV. Many Farsi and Russian religious programs are available by satellite and watched by many in Tajikistan.

e) Internet. A few websites share the gospel in Tajik, such as www.isoimaseh.com and www.dardidil.com .
