Sermon First Sunday
|Sunday School Needs|
Hello everyone! We are so appreciative of all who have helped and signed up to help with Sunday school this fall. It’s so different from what we had these last several years and families have been so gracious with all the changes we’ve had to make! We are looking for a few more people to help with Sunday school for the month of November. We need at least one more adult in the nursery. We are asking people, when possible, to sign up for 2 weeks, though 1 week or more than 2 weeks are certainly welcome! We are going to close the toddler room for the rest of the fall, but toddler age kids can still be dropped off in the nursery! Thank you, again, for riding this out these changes with us!
Thank you to EVERYONE who gave to bless our Pastors this month! I know they feel a bit strange being appreciated publically, but I know so many of us enjoy showing our gratitude for all they do and all they are to all of us. We were able to bless them with some amazing gifts as well as a wonderful ‘bonus’ that they could spend however they wish. Thank you again for choosing to bless Mike & Paul and their families!
Operation Christmas Child
It’s that time of year again! The Samaritan’s Purse project Operation Christmas Child collects shoebox gifts‑filled with fun toys, school supplies and hygiene items—and delivers them to children in need around the world to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way. For many of these children, the gift—filled shoebox is the first gift they have ever received. Learn how to pack a shoebox, view gift suggestions, and get your Follow Your Box label at samaritanspurse.org/occ. Participants can donate $9 per shoebox gift online through Follow Your Box and receive a tracking label to discover its destination. Participants who prefer the convenience of online shopping can browse samaritanspurse.org/buildonline to select gifts matched to a child’s specific age and gender, then finish packing the virtual shoebox by adding a photo and personal note of encouragement.
|Conquer Series Continues|
We will be continuing our Conquer Series! We start again today, November 1st. We will continue to meet at 2pm at the church building.
Every man and every young man is invited to join us as we go through this series.
The Conquer Series is not about behavior modification, but heart transformation. This life-changing, 5-week discipleship curriculum provides insights from top Christian leaders who lay out biblical strategies, scientific facts and teach men how to use God’s weapons to become conquerors.
“The Conquer Series is an amazing combination of grit and grace.
God is using the Conquer Series to help us win an epic battle
for our lives and our legacies.”
– Kevin Noble
Foster Care Closet
Thanks to Kaci Clark and Hannah Cross, Summitview will be hosting a Foster Care Closet designed to assist Foster Care Families in their time of need. Sometimes foster care children are placed in homes very swiftly with little or no time for the foster care families to prepare. We hope this closet can help in supplying much needed items when receiving a foster care child. We welcome all donations including furniture, toys, clothes, and shoes, up to age 8. You can donate anytime. The room will be located in the front hallway near the Pastor’s Office. The room is getting prepared and we are in need of some kid sized coat hangers, empty plastic tubs, and a garage shelving unit to get get it all set up.
