8.30.20 Announcements

Youth Group
We have had some fun meetings this summer and are gearing up for our fall Youth Group gatherings. We will not be having high school or middle school Youth Group tonight, but keep your eyes open for upcoming fall plans as well as our fall kick-off party!
Conquer Series- starting Sept. 20th
Thank you for being patient during this pandemic while we had to pause our plans of starting our Conquer Series. The Conquer Series is not about behavior modification, but heart transformation. This life-changing, 5-week discipleship curriculum provides insights from top Christian leaders who lay out biblical strategies, scientific facts and teach men how to use God’s weapons to become conquerors.
Every man and every young man is invited to join us as we go through this series.
We plan to start the series on Sunday, September 20 at 2:00 at the church
building.  If you have not already, please let Tom Grove know if you
plan to come.  His email is tomgrove1@gmail.com.
“The Conquer Series is an amazing combination of grit and grace. God is using the Conquer Series to help us win an epic battle for our lives and our legacies.”- Kevin Noble
Sunday Morning Service Revised Guidelines
After spending time in Romans 14-15 and seeking the Lord’s heart in prayer regarding how to best love and serve our body, the leadership team at Summitview Community Church would like to announce some changes to our current COVID meeting guidelines.
The following guidelines are our attempt to follow Galatians 6:10 (So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith) and to reflect Romans 14:19 (So then let us pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding) while ultimately accomplishing Romans 15:5-6 (May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ). We will not require the use of masks during our worship service, however each person may wear a mask if they so choose.  We desire to create an environment that allows you to freely practice your own convictions in this matter.  Masks will be made available at the door for those that want one. Each Sunday our greeters, ushers, and those who prepare and serve the communion will wear masks while serving the body.Chairs in the auditorium will be rearranged to the traditional format, however rows will be spaced further apart to better accommodate distancing. Rows allow us to more easily accommodate visitors, give  more flexibility for seating households of various sizes, and allow more location choices for each household. We will no longer employ a ticketing format, rather you can select your own seats each Sunday morning in a location that best serves you and/or your family.  Ushers will be available at each entrance to help maintain social distancing between households within each row.We realize that, in spite of the above changes, we will not be able to accommodate every personal conviction.  As such, we will continue to offer live streaming for every Sunday service. We would encourage the entire body, but especially those that cannot join us on Sunday mornings, to stay connected with others in the church in whatever way possible, one of which would be involvement in one of the many Community groups that meet each week.
Don’t give up meeting together but consider how to spur one another on to love and good deeds. (Hebrews 10:24-25)
We love you church!
Sunday & Wednesday Morning Prayer
We are still meeting (via Zoom) each Wednesday and Sunday mornings for prayer.  Check our Slack site for updated meeting links and passwords.  On Sundays, our prayer time will be from 7:30am to 8:00am. And, on Wednesdays, we meet from 6:00am-7:00am.
Prayer Requests
You can use the Slack app/website (go to the “prayer-requests-and-needs” channel) to post any prayer requests during this time. We are loving getting to hear people’s needs quickly as well as hearing updates on those needs.

Sunday School/Gospel Project

We have begun to have Sunday School classes for only TODDLER (2 years- 3 years) and NURSERY (birth- 1 year) classes.  What that means is preschool-5th grade will continue to be in the service during the sermon and worship times.
The goal will be to remain safely distanced while together in the classrooms.  It may be quite difficult to keep a safe distance from one another while in the classroom, so it will be according to the parents discretion what would constitute what is  a “safe” distance.  In other words, if it is an issue with other children being close to your children or vice versa, then perhaps it may not be the right time to allow your child into the nursery or toddler rooms during this phase.  Please know that we do understand either way.
We will devote extra hand sanitizer and clorox wipes to these classrooms before entering the classroom.
Our hope is to continue with this plan through July and August.  We would love to be up and running with the full complement of Sunday School classrooms on Sunday September 6th.
There will be plenty of opportunity for discussion and re-evaluation until then.  If you are a parent of a child in our program please know that we want to do what is in the best interest of your family, both from a health/wellness and spiritual standpoint.
As mentioned earlier, we want to move forward, but we want to move forward in a safe and conscientious way. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our Sunday School Directors, Joey & Robin Taylor or   To God be the Glory!!!
